St. Luke's HealthNow Episode Focuses on Weight Loss
This episode discusses new trends in weight loss methods at St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN).
The next episode of St. Luke’s HealthNow will air on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. on WFMZ, Channel 69. This episode explores which factors contribute to body composition and obesity, challenges of weight loss, and safe weight loss options offered by healthcare providers at St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN).
The episode features a panel of experts at SLUHN:
Dr. Ikemefuna “Ike” Akusoba, MD, metabolic and bariatric surgeon, St. Luke’s Weight Management Center.
Dr. Maha Alchaer, MD, family medicine, St. Luke’s Primary Care-Hamilton.
Amber Kinney, RD, CSOWM, LDN, St. Luke’s Weight Management Center.
“When somebody is trying to lose weight, we want to make sure they’re losing fat mass and not lean body mass,” said Kinney. “Our registered dietitians here at St. Luke’s Weight Management Center talk to our patients and really learn their routines and habits, and then develop a meal plan that is nutritionally adequate for them that’s consistent in the long term.”
St. Luke's HealthNow, hosted by Ashley Russo, founder and executive producer of ASR Media Productions, is a co-production of ASR Media and SLUHN.
St. Luke's HealthNow complements other St. Luke's health and wellness programming, including Talk with Your Doctor, a 30-minute live call-in show in its 21st year. St. Luke's HealthNow and Talk with Your Doctor air in rotation every Monday at 6:30 PM on WFMZ-TV Channel 69 (Service Electric channel 508 and RCN channel 1007).
