Four Types of Compelling Nonprofit Organization Videos

The best way to communicate your nonprofit’s mission is by sharing stories of those you serve. At ASR Media, we see video as a meaningful way to spread the word about your organization and show its community impact. While we create many different kinds of video content, four types have risen to the top for nonprofit clients: overviews, testimonials, impact reports, and commercials. Each serves critical aspects of nonprofit storytelling—check out some examples below to see which is best for you.

1. Overview

This gives viewers a better understanding of an organization’s mission and the work done day in and day out to reach its goals. It can be illustrated via an employee, client, or volunteer point of view (POV).

2. Testimonial

This is a great way to feature clients’ stories about how an organization made a difference in their lives. Options include narration or a re-telling by staff or volunteers who worked directly with the client.

3. Impact Report

Thoughtfully share your results and reach more audiences! Translating an organization’s impact using b-roll filmed on location and staff is a great way to showcase its results using critical success metrics.

4. Commercial

Usually 15 seconds to 1 minute long, a commercial can serve many needs for an organization. Along with use on air, commercials can be especially effective for use at events, on a website, YouTube and other social media platforms, and especially fundraising campaigns.

ASR Media was founded more than ten years ago and has been dedicated to telling important nonprofit stories ever since. It still sits at the center of our mission. We have been lucky to work with some of the most impactful organizations in the Lehigh Valley and beyond, and we would love to provide our expertise to your organization.
